Dear All,

With so much rain and so little golf played, at Pachesham at least, we have the opportunity to make a start to the season with our planned Society Day due to take place at the end of the month – Saturday 29th March 2014 with tee-times from 9:00am.

The competition will take the form of a Fourball/Betterball for teams of 2 players playing off full Society handicaps using Stableford scoring.

Each player in the team will be able to nominate their own “joker” hole where points will be doubled.

In addition there will be a restriction of clubs, where each player can only use 7 clubs ( half set). In the event of the current trolley ban continuing this means less hardship in carrying clubs.

So in this competition each player within the team will play their own ball throughout the round and accumulate their own score. The team score will be made up of the higher of the two scores for each hole.

This is a great way to get the new season underway. The usual array of super prizes will be on offer for the top three teams plus additional prizes for nearest the pin and longest drive.

The competition will be free to normal members, £10 for Society Day members and £15 for guests.
