URGENT REMINDER

We have two golf days in April and I need to gather names.

The first event is our Triangular match against Kingston Grammar and Kings College and we are the current holders of the appropriately named Raynes Park Cup, so we need to defend our title at Wimbledon Park on Tuesday, 12th April.

Afterwards there will be soup and sandwiches and the cost will be £15 per head.  It is the best 5 Stableford scores are counted, so come along for a friendly game in Wimbledon Park.

The second is for one of the charities we support and it is on Thursday, 14th April – see below.

Shooting Star CHASE Children’s Hospices Charity Golf Day at Foxhills Golf & Country Club

This is a team event and we have entered three teams.  Foxhills is a very smart club just a few minutes drive from J11 of the M25 and it should be a very enjoyable day. There is no charge for this day but we hope players buy raffle tickets, etc to support the charity.

Please let me know ASAP if you would like to play in either/both events.

Dear All,

Volunteers, please:  Following the AGM in January we have a number of golf days that need organisers.  Tony Tuley could do with some help for the first Society Day on 26thMarch.  We need two for the Triangular match on 12th April and Peter JH Nicholls is on his own for the Society’s Championship on 3rd September.  Additionally, the Surrey OBs Comp at Clandon Regis requires 1 or 2 organisers for next year as one of the OB societies organises the event for two years then passes the responsibility to another society – our turn is looming.

Last year, we had to cancel the match against Ashtead Squash & Tennis Club at Tyrrell’s Wood due to lack of players.  Would all those interested in playing – you do not have to participate in the match as we usually hold a Stableford competition alongside the match – please let me know and state which days of the week you can/cannot play – it will be sometime in May.

Many of our Society Days and Away Days were poorly attended last year, so we would like to know your views on why you did not play and how we can change things to encourage more people to play in the competitions.  Please use e-mail address below to give your thoughts on what you would like the Society to do regarding these events or any other ideas you may have.

Best wishes,

Graham Francis
