ERIC SYKES

Very sad to hear today that Eric Sykes had died. I had the great pleasure of playing 18 holes with him in a Charity Day at Wentworth in 2003. His eyesight was failing, but he manged to play a very respectable round and (I was told that he played off 8 at one time). He bought us bacon rolls and tea in the half way hut, and told a few tales. His lady assistant drove his buggy round the course and pointed him in the right direction; what an amazing day.
